Access the asset
Eligible riders gain access to a Boda Boda business asset and working capital through the revolving fund.
Boda Fund helps young people access productive business assets and working capital so they can build sustainable livelihoods through the motorcycle taxi economy.
Motorcycle taxis are a major part of Kenya's everyday transport economy. Boda Fund is designed around a simple insight: when young riders can access the right asset, working capital and local business support, mobility can become a platform for economic independence.
The project identifies unemployed youth's limited access to formal credit as a core barrier. Boda Fund responds with access to Boda Boda business assets and working capital through a revolving fund, supported by social networks and SACCOs.
Boda Fund combines financing, asset management and community relationships to create a delivery model built for scale.

SACCOs provide local support, onboarding, references, guarantees and assistance with collections.
The project model reinvests 80% of monthly revenues to grow the fund and expand access to more riders.

The project was founded by Wilson Omollo through a funding grant from United States African Development Foundation (USADF) in December 2019, a Bungoma County pilot in February 2021 and subsequent preparations for commercial launch and regional rollout.
